Lenta Opens 17th Hypermarket In Urals

Russian retailer Lenta will be opening its second hypermarket in Magnitogorsk, its 17th hypermarket across eight Ural cities.

The compact format hypermarket, located at 23 Vokzalnaya St., will be 9,810 metres square, with a total sales space of 5,272 square metres. It will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day of the week. There will be 19,000 SKUs on offer, including Lenta’s private labels and federal product ranges, along with local produce.

The store will have a large parking lot of 350 spaces and 30 cash registers in-store.

The company has opened 23 hypermarkets in 2016 alone, bringing the total count to 162 hypermarkets in 175 cities across Russia. It owns 43 supermarkets in Moscow and St. Petersburg as well.

To date Lenta has one million square feet of retail space. On Thursday, it announced the opening of its seventh distribution centre.
