Lidl UK Recalls Cheese Due to Allergy Risks

Lidl UK is recalling its Deluxe Mature Cheddar with Pickled Onions and Chives because it contains sulphites which are not mentioned on the packaging.

The product could pose a possible health risks for consumers that are sensitive to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites.

The issue arose specifically with the Cheddar’s 100g packs that have a ‘use by’ date of 8 June 2015.

Customers with a sulphite sensitivity or allergy have been advised by Lidl not to eat the cheese but rather return it to the store where they will receive a full refund for their product.
