Metro Group has announced a number of management changes at two of its Eastern European businesses.
Kristina Johansson (pictured) has taken over as the new director general of Metro Cash & Carry Serbia. Before joining German wholesaler Metro Group in October 2016, Johansson worked as a consultant for Accenture and was for almost 15 years with in IKEA, in several markets, in various managerial positions, the last of which was Executive Director of IKEA Netherlands.
Metro Cash & Carry Serbia has been in the Balkan country since 2005 where it has nine stores, of which three in Belgrade.
Johansson takes over from Roberto Mancuso who has taken up the position of president of the Board of Metro Cash & Carry Hrvatska.
Mancuso began his career in Metro in Italy in 2001 and worked in five countries in five positions before joining Metro Cash & Carry Croatia.
As a result of the implementation of a new operating model focused primarily on B2B partners, Metro has invested more than HRK 115 million in the opening of two new wholesale centres in Pula and Poreč, as well as on the modernisation or relocation of existing stores in Zadar, Rijeka, Varaždin and Split to better target professional customers.
