Migros is to open its first organic supermarket on 30 August. The Swiss grocery retailer has partnered with German organic retail chain Alnatura, on the venture which will see Zurich host the first Alnatura-Migros Supermarkt.
The Alnatura-Migros store will be operated by Migros and will stock a range of Alnatura and Migros products, as well as organic products from national and international manufacturers, with a strong emphasis on fresh produce.
It is thought that Migros venture into the organic business is an attempt to close the gap between it and its main competitor, Coop, in the organic sector. (14 Aug)
