Morrisons Hires New Non-executive Director

Former Unilever and L’Oréal executive Paula Vennells has joined Morrison’s as the company’s non-executive director, replacing Johanna Waterous, who has held the role for six years, retailgazette.co.uk reports.

Vennells moves from the position of CEO of Post Office Ltd – a position she has occupied since April 2012. She has also worked in the past for UK retailers Dixons and Argos.

She said, "I am delighted to have the opportunity to join Morrisons and to work with the board to help to contribute to the company's turnaround.”

Morrisons’ chairman, Andrew Higginson, said, "I am delighted to welcome Paula to the board. Her experience of restructuring and building a retail operation at the Post Office, her background in FMCG and her experience as a serving CEO, will all be invaluable to the board going forward”
