Nestlé Announces Executive Board Changes

Food giant Nestlé has announced that its executive board member Patrice Bula has decided to retire by the end of February 2021.

Currently, Bula serves as the head of Nestlé’s strategic business units, marketing and sales, as well as Nespresso.

He spent more than 40 years with Nestlé in various positions across three continents, most notably as the head of key markets like China, Germany and South Africa.

In his current role, Bula successfully led the group's brand strategies, digital marketing transformation and the Nespresso business, the company added.

Other Changes

The company has named Bernard Meunier, presently the head of Nestlé Purina PetCare EMENA, as Bula’s successor and a member of the Nestlé Group Executive Board.

He will assume his new position as the head of strategic business units, marketing and sales on 1 March 2021.

Meunier has been a part of Nestlé for more than 35 years and has held several senior leadership positions in marketing, commercial and general management, including the role of market head in Hungary, Russia and Eurasia, and the Iberian region.

Meunier was responsible for driving significant growth in the Nestlé Purina PetCare EMENA division by implementing a digitally-powered, personalised pet care business model.

Elsewhere, the company’s board of directors has also appointed David Rennie, the head of the Nestlé Coffee Brands group, to the Executive Board, effective 1 March 2021.

Rennie has been instrumental in strengthening Nestlé's coffee business and launching a global partnership with Starbucks.

'A Dynamic Leader'

Mark Schneider, CEO, commented, "We are excited that, in Bernard [Meunier], we have a successor who is a dynamic leader with the proven ability to grow businesses. We are equally delighted to welcome David Rennie to the group executive board. With his strategic vision, ability to execute, and a stellar record of success in coffee, he will make a valuable contribution.

"On behalf of our board of directors and our executive board, I would like to thank Patrice [Patrice Bula] for the tremendous job he has done over the course of 40 years at Nestlé."
