New Carrefour Market Shop Opens In Romania

A new Carrefour Market store has opened in Romania’s Timis region, offering about 5,000 SKUs, of which about a fifth are private label, businessreview-eu reported.

It includes fresh produce, bakery and patisserie goods, dairy products, and non-food SKUs. Its opening hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., except for Sundays, when it closes earlier at 8 p.m.

The 700-square-metre outfit is the retailer’s 112th under its Market banner in Romania, and its 283rd in total. The new Timis store created 22 new jobs.

Earlier this month, Carrefour took the number of hypermarkets it operates in Romania to 31.

In June, it took over 86 Billa supermarkets in the country, at a cost pegged around €100 million.
