Dutch web-shop bol.com has launched a same-day delivery service: orders placed before noon - on weekdays - can now be delivered between 6 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. on the same day. The service was launched on 6 October, as a global first.
In addition, the company has expanded its regular home-delivery service to include Sundays.
Daniel Ropers, Managing Director at bol.com, said, "Since our launch, over 17 years ago, we have focused on making the benefits of online shopping bigger and the disadvantages – like waiting for your delivery – smaller. After making 'free next-day delivery' standard in the Netherlands in 2012, we took another big step today with a global first: 300,000 articles available for delivery within a few hours. Coupled with the introduction of a Sunday delivery, we are making the benefits of online shopping more accessible."
Owned by Ahold Delhaize, bol.com is the leading Dutch online shop for books, toys and electronics. The 'Vandaag Bezorgd' service is available - in The Netherlands - for articles across all product categories. The company aims to expand the range and extend the service to Belgium.
