Rewe’s Billa chain is reportedly in talks to acquire Russian supermarket chain Citystore. The stores, formerly known as Ramstore, would help consolidate Billa’s position in Moscow.
Operated by Turkish real estate giant Enka, Citystore operates 17 supermarkets in Moscow. Billa has approached the Russian competition authority for approval regarding the deal, according to local reports.
Local analysts have valued the acquisition price at between $70 million to $100 million. (Jan 19)
