Х5 Retail Group subsidiary 5Post delivered seven million orders in 2020, registering an 18-fold increase on a year-on-year basis.
With daily orders peaking at 55,000, 5Post and its partners fulfilled a total of 20 million parcels for pick-up at X5 stores in 2020.
In December of last year, 5Post fulfilled 1.4 million orders, and that number reached 2.4 million when partner deliveries were included.
In 2020, the division managed to significantly increase its service speed and reduce delivery times to 2.8 days on average across all regions where it operates.
The average order purchase rate rose to 98.1%, X5 added.
'Year Of Robust Growth'
Vitaly Dyrdasov, managing director at 5Post, said, “2020 was a year of robust growth and development for 5Post. While we had some very ambitious goals, we could deliver on them despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Throughout the year, 5Post sought to support its partners and clients by providing the highest quality of service, infrastructure availability, and security. To make things even more convenient for our clients, we started accepting payments for orders at all our pick-up points.”
5Post implemented a programme to expand its network of parcel lockers and pick-up points to around 11,740 in 2,415 cities and towns.
It opened eight new sorting centres and the subsidiary now owns 20 such facilities at Pyaterochka distribution centres.
Last year, around 20% of its orders were shipped to localities with fewer than 50,000 people.
Moscow and the Moscow region, together with St Petersburg and the Leningrad region, accounted for 38% and 14% of all deliveries, respectively.
5Post also developed and approved a pick-up point concept last year, which helped support a multi-service delivery model for its partners and clients.
In Q4 2020, 5Post opened 40 pick-up points staffed by its personnel, the retailer added.
