Simply Introduces Shopping Assistant Service For Blind

Italian supermarket chain Simply has introduced a personal shopping assistant service for blind people.

The new addition is the result of an agreement signed between two Simply supermarkets (part of Sma Auchan Group) in the city of Siena and the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired (UICI).

The service provides a shop assistant to help the blind in their daily grocery shopping. Users of the service also benefit from a small discount on the total bill at checkout.

According to the president of UICI, Massimo Vita, the intention is to expand the collaboration to all Simply supermarkets and not only those in the province of Siena.
