Starbucks Voted No. 1 Company In Foodservice Industry

Starbucks has revealed that is has been voted the number one company in the foodservice industry - worldwide - and the third most admired, in a recent survey by Fortune magazine.

It is the highest ranking that the company has achieved since its first appearance on the list, in 2003.

The ranking is based on the company’s achievements regarding the quality of its products or services, innovation, human resources and social responsibility, as well as its corporate management, financial health and use of assets and long-term investments.

This year's pool of candidates included 1,000 US companies and 500 non-US companies, listed in Fortune magazine’s global database of companies with a minimum revenue of $10 billion.

Around 3,800 executives, directors, and securities analysts took part in the survey. They were tasked with selecting the 10 companies they admired the most, from a list consisting of last year’s top 25% of high-ranking companies.

The Fortune magazine survey was carried out in collaboration with Korn Ferry Hay Group. The Fortune list was established in 1989, as ‘the definitive report card on corporate reputations’.
