Stock Spirits Invests In New Eco-Friendly Distillery In Poland

Stock Spirits has announced plans to build a new environmentally-friendly distillery at its plant in Lublin, Poland.

The company will invest PLN120 million (€27.09 million) in the new distillery, which will have the capacity to produce 100,000 litres of spirits per day.

'Innovative Technology'

Marek Sypek, managing director of Stock Polska, said, “It will be a great example of how innovative technology can work in combination with protecting our environment and respecting our neighbours. When planning the new distillery, we set the bar very high.”

Stock Spirits aims to commence construction of the distillery in the first quarter of 2021 if it attains all relevant permissions.

The new distillery will implement innovative technology and a number of eco-friendly solutions to minimise energy consumption and emissions.

It will be equipped with photovoltaic installations, LED lighting and an optimised production process to minimise the requirement for thermal energy, the company added.

Other Highlights

Liquid waste and industrial sewage from the plant will be treated in the company’s new sewage treatment plant, resulting in wastewater that exceeds national and European purity standards.

The facility will ensure minimum noise pollution and no emission of odour from its fermentation plant.

In addition, the company plans to install a rainwater harvesting system and plant living ‘green walls’ on the roof and side facades.
