Waitrose has appointed Rob Collins to the role of Retail Director with effect from January 2012. Collins will take over the position from Tony Solomons, who plans to retire from the business.
Collins currently holds the position of Personnel Director of the supermarket chain. Helen Hyde, who is currently Divisional Registrar, will take up this position from January. "Both Rob and Helen bring to their new roles a wealth of experience and a proven track record within Waitrose - their leadership will be invaluable to their respective directorates as we enter the exciting next stages in our development," said Mark Price, Managing Director of Waitrose.
Collins will manage the retail operations for 269 stores across the UK. He will also have responsibility for Waitrose e-commerce, convenience and hospitality offers. Hyde will have responsibility for the personnel, occupational health, learning and development of more than 46,000 staff. (21 Nov)
