World Retail Congress Set To Kick Off Next Week

Widely recognized as the pre-eminent meeting place in the retail calendar, the World Retail Congress is set to kick off next Monday 7 October in Paris, running until 9 October.

The congress, which is to be sponsored by Mastercard, will feature speakers such as Carrefour chief executive Georges Plassat, Martha Stewart and Sir Philip Green of Arcadia Group.

Taking place in a key retail hub and one of Europe's most dynamic capital cities, delegates will be able to enjoy a hosted Retail Study Tour as well as receptions and key networking events across Paris. The Congress programme will address the key issues facing the world's retailers today, with incisive keynote sessions through to in-depth discussions in the focussed business streams.

Day One of the summit will feature a strong retail technology theme, with topics such as James House, CEO, 5one, Peter Fitzgerald, Sales Director, Google UK, Mark Thomson, Retail Industry Solutions Lead EMEA, Motorola Solutions and Richard Hartzell, Head Merchants & Acquiring Business International Markets, MasterCard all set to feature.
