Carrefour Romania has announced the opening of a new hypermarket in Satu Mare, near the border with Hungary.

The 7,500 square metre store is the 34th Carrefour hypermarket to open in the country, and boasts around 55,000 SKUs, of which 3,000 are own-brand SKUs.

In a statement, Carrefour said that it had increased the 'gastronomic magic' at the store, boasting a wider range of fresh products from local producers, an increased organic range, and International specialties such as Colombian tamarrilos and Thai coconuts.

The own-brand selection includes products under the Drag de România, Terre D’Italie and Reflets de France brands, as well as products made in partnership with Romanian farmers, the company said.

"I am confident that the quality products we offer, from food and clothes to home appliances, as well as good prices, will help residents of Satu Mare embrace a healthier lifestyle, enjoy the best gastronomic products and at the same time, maintain a reasonable budget," said Valentin Papancea, store manager. "The shopping experience is simpler and more enjoyable due to our modern services and technological innovations."
