Russian retailer Lenta has announced the appointment of Rud Pedersen as its new chief financial officer.

Pedersen's appointment was announced on 9 November, and sees the former Carlsberg executive take over the role from Jago Lemmens, effective today (1 April).

He also becomes a director of Lenta by virtue of his new role. Lemmens will remain at the company for a transitional period, to support Pedersen in his new role.

Pedersen previously served as chief financial officer at Carlsberg Eastern Europe, with responsibility for five FSU markets, and has also worked at a number of major firms in FMCG, fashion, retail and pharma, such as Cadbury in Russia, Levi Strauss in Belgium and IC Group in Denmark. He started his career with Deloitte.
