Italy’s Birra Peroni Posts Highest Turnover In Its History

Italian brewery Birra Peroni has posted the highest turnover in its history, benefiting from an exceptional 2015 summer and a favourable performance on both the domestic and international markets.

For the year ended March 31, Birra Peroni posted revenues of €360 million (+3.5%), operating income of €49.8 million (+99%) and net profit of €21.5 million (+160%).

The company increased its market share in Italy to 20% (+0.4%), compared to 31% for the Heineken Group (-0.6%), 8.3% for InBev (+0.1%), and 6.8% for Carlsberg (+0.5%).

Birra Peroni bottles the Peroni, Nastro Azzurro, Peroni Gran Riserva, Pilsner Urquell, Tourtel, Wuhrer and Raffo brands. It produces five million hectolitres and exports one million hectolitres annually.
