Sligro Posts €3 Billion In Sales In 2017

Dutch wholesaler Sligro Food Group has announced that it made €2.969 billion in sales in 2017.

The figure marks a 5.6% increase compared to 2016, while the group’s organic growth was up by 2.1% for 2017, with 2.0% growth in Q4.

The group’s total foodservice sales grew by 7.8% (Q4: 10.4%), which includes the €15 million for the provisional net effect on revenue in December of the partnership with Heineken and the acquisition of its wholesale activities, the company said.

Sligro reached a final sales agreement to carry out the beer manufacturer’s logistics operations for the hospitality sector at the beginning of December.

Food Retail

Its food retail organic growth for 2017 was 3% (Q4: 2.5%), while its food retail sales and EMTÉ supermarket chain like-for-like consumer sales rose marginally by 0.1% (Q4: 0.8%) and 0.2% (Q4: 1.9%), respectively.

The complete full-year figures for 2017 will be published on 25 January before the opening of trading on the stock market, the group said.

Last year, the group posted a net profit of €73 million in full year 2016, a decrease of 9.1% on 2015.
