Spanish Expenditure On Makeup Continues To Decline
Spanish consumers' expenditure on makeup fell by 2.2% in 2015 to €486 million, marking a decline of 16.5% for the sector since 2010.
As reported by lainformacion.com, the figures were obtained from a study by the EAE Business School which indicates that Spain and Italy are the only EU countries showing a negative sales trend in the category.
The average price per unit sold in Spain was €3.11, which is 8.1% lower than in 2010.
It is expected that the trend will continue to be negative during the 2015-2019 period, with sales anticipated to fall as low as €459 million. José Luis Pérez Huertas, author of the study, points out that the future of the category will be dictated by the entrance of new generations to the market.
