After a successful trial, SPAR Austria is to introduce digital signage at its checkouts, working with German firm Online Software AG. The Austrian retailer will use the market-leading Prestige software to display advertisements and promote its private label ranges at the checkout point.
The system is being integrated with its merchandising and promotional systems as well as its online offering. Planet Retail reports that the technology is already in use in a new store in Vienna airport, which opened in summer 2012. (25 Feb)
