Spar Austria Spends €1.4m On Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives

Spar Austria has announced that it spend approximately €1.4 million last year on a range of corporate social responsibility initiatives, including donations to different local and national charities.

Among the charities supported was a fundraising initiative for a local cancer patient in Bregenz-Mariahilf, a collection for children's charity The Hour Of The Heart in Vorarlberg (pictured) and support for the campaign, Lienzer Brücke, which works with families of people with serious diseases, in Carinthia and Eastern Tyrol.

We would like to thank our customers in Eastern Tyrol who significantly contributed to this donation by shopping in our SPAR and INTERSPAR stores," Paul Bacher, Managing Director of Spar Carinthia and Eastern Tyrol, said of the latter campaign

'Responsible retailing and community involvement are high on Spar Austria’s agenda and deeply rooted in its corporate culture,' Spar Austria said in a statement.
