Sunny Outlook For Sainsbury’s Sales

As the Olympic Games kicks off and the sun returns to the south of England - Sainsbury’s heartland, the retailer’s weather expert David Bailey expects sales to soar. 

Last week, the British retailer’s sales of summer hats were up 145 per cent and barbeque sales jumped 274 per cent, compared to the week before.

In the coming week, sun care products are due a huge boost according to Sainsbury’s, with sales expected to soar to 250 per cent. Sales of burgers are expected to see a huge 150 per cent jump, with a 50 per cent increase in sales of salads and 30 per cent rise in purchases of rosé wine. (26 Jul)
