Ferrero Launches Ice Cream Sticks In France

Italian confectionery company Ferrero has launched ice cream sticks in France in three varieties – Raffaello and Ferrero Rocher in dark and classic variants, according to local media reports.

Raffaello comprises a coating of grated coconut and chopped almonds enclosing coconut ice cream.

Elsewhere, the Ferrero Rocher ice cream sticks are made with hazelnut ice cream wrapped in milk or dark chocolate, similar to that of the popular chocolate brand.

The products are available in packages of four, at a suggested retail price of €3.89.

Rollout Plans

According to  Corriere della Sera, there is no official confirmation from the company on the future rollout of these products in Italy or the rest of Europe.

In 2017, it launched five Kinder-branded ice creams, produced and distributed in collaboration with Unilever.

These were launched in France, Austria, Germany and Switzerland, before being launched in Italy.

Last year, Ferrero acquired a majority stake in Ice Cream Factory Comaker (ICFC), Spain’s leading ice cream manufacturer.

According to Nielsen, the industrial ice cream sector in Italy generates over €840 million, with some 2.2 billion pieces sold in the large-scale retail trade on an annual basis. At a global level, it is worth around €15 billion.
