French Livestock Biosecurity Firm Buys Germany’s Ewabo

French livestock biosecurity company Theseo has enhanced its position as the ‘European leader in biodiversity’ through its takeover of German firm Ewabo, the company said in a statement.

Under the control of parent Groupe Avril, Theseo and Ewabo will together forge ‘an alliance to reinforce their positions in the European market for animal husbandry, creating a new set of livestock biosecurity leaders,' according to the release.

Livestock biosecurity manages risks to stop infectious diseases, pest, and weeds from entering livestock premises and spreading.

‘While Theseo is moving into one of the most important European markets of livestock, [for] Germany, this alliance further strengthens its product offering and innovation in the French market,' the statement commented.

The new livestock biosecurity venture will employ over 100 people in France, Germany, the UK and Brazil when finalised. The cumulative turnover will be €25 million.
