L’Oréal USA To Cut Emissions Through Two Solar Power Sites

L’Oréal USA has outlined its intention to 'exceed its carbon emission reduction goals' through the construction of two solar energy sites to be located in Arkansas and Kentucky respectively.

The French company will have reduced its carbon dioxide emissions by 80 per cent relative to its 2005 levels when the projects are completed, outstripping its goal of a 60-per-cent reduction. It also hopes the initiatives will make it only dependent on renewable energy.

Fréderic Rozé, CEO of L’Oréal Americas, commented, “Reducing our CO2 emissions by 80% and achieving 100% renewable electricity for our US manufacturing is a major milestone for L’Oréal USA.

“The achievement is a testament to our passionate, creative and innovative teams who have pushed us to go beyond our original ambitions. We are committed to being a sustainability leader in the United States and are proud of the progress we have made.”
