Mercator Divests Santana and Loka Coffee Brands

Slovenian retailer Mercator has announced it is selling the Santana and Loka coffee brands as part of its divestment of non-core assets.

Ivero Trade, an associated unit of Croatian coffee, tea and snacks company Franck, and Mercator subsidiary, Mercator Emba, signed a sale and purchase agreement on the acquisition of the ground coffee brands.

Production of products marketed under the Santana and Loka brands will remain at the manufacturing plants of the company Mercator Emba, in Logatec (Slovenia).

For its part, Franck has committed itself to continue to invest in quality of the products and their distribution and further support the marketing positioning of these brands in regional markets.

By adding the recognisable Slovenian coffee brands to its portfolio and integrating them to its existing sales structure, Franck will become the second biggest player in the ground coffee category in Slovenia.
