Le Groupement des Mousquetaires has opened its revamped bakery facility, le Moulin de la Chaume, which now has an output 20 per cent greater than it did in its previous form.
The facility, located in La Voulte-sur-Rhône (Ardèche), is capable of producing 80 million bread SKUs per year. It is the result of a €45-million investment.
New recipes will also be introduced to company product lines by the modernised plant, Mousquetaires said in a press release.
The original bread factory on the site was burned down by an accidental fire in October 2014. In the intervening period, the company endeavoured to redistribute its workforce to its other bakeries as much as possible.
