Portugal’s SICAL Coffee Introduces New Packaging

Portuguese coffee brand SICAL has rolled out a new, revamped packaging for its ground roasted coffee and coffee beans SKUs.

The modernised and intuitive packages provide additional information on the various types of coffee, the different origins and preparation methods.

With the new packaging, SICAL aims make its products stand out from competition and in line with other global premium specialist brands.

One of the most obvious differences is the information stamp on the front and back of the new packaging, where it shares detailed information on the composition of each blend.

Sustainability Criteria

The packaging also highlights the sustainable cultivation seal, which guarantees that the coffee is certified by 4C (Common Code for the Coffee Community), an independent entity that ensures that coffee beans respect certain sustainability criteria.

This allows the tracing of coffee beans and their producers, allowing for greater engagement with local communities.

The SICAL brand offers a range inspired from coffee from various parts of the world, such as Dak Lak in Vietnam, Kerala in India, Nyeri in Kenya, Espírito Santo in Brazil, Masaka in Uganda and Santa Bárbara in Honduras.

According to Nestlé Retail Coffee marketing manager, Teresa Roseta, SICAL coffee is part of a project that creates value for farmers, communities and the planet. "It also seeks to develop conditions so that agriculture becomes an economically attractive activity for coffee producers," she added.

The new packaging of SICAL coffee is already available at major retailers across Portugal.
