Russia's X5 Opens New Distribution Centre In Saratov

Russian retail group X5 has opened its tenth distribution centre in Saratov in the Volga Federal District.

Governor of the Saratov region, Valery Radayev, government relations director of X5, Stanislav Naumov, and major suppliers in the region were present at the inauguration ceremony.

The Highlights

The new distribution centre, spread across an area of 16,000 square metres, will supply goods to all Pyaterochka stores in the Saratov and Volga regions.

It is divided into six separate zones, each equipped with a specific temperature band to store products ranging across all categories.

The advanced logistics facility will ensure that goods remain fresh and available, and match the pace of Pyaterochka's active expansion in the region.

Focal Point

The Saratov centre will be a focal point for suppliers, as it will help ramp up sales by distributing the products to other regions. It will also cut down delivery costs significantly.

At full capacity, the centre, which will employ around 200 people, is expected to handle and store products from more than 350 suppliers.
