Transgourmet, the wholesale supply company owned by Swiss retailer Coop, has acquired 70% of the shares in German drinks distribution company Team Beverage AG.
This acquisition will allow Transgourmet to establish itself in the German beverage market, and 'meet the increasing demands of its customers, who wish to benefit from more services while dealing with fewer partners'.

Team Beverage has an annual turnover of around €1.3 billion, with a network of over 36,000 distribution points. It also provides services in the areas of data management, marketing, e-commerce, logistics, and own brands.
Transgourmet, which is based in Basel, will use this to complement its existing wholesale distribution services and expand its position in Europe.
After the takeover, 70% of the shares will be held by Transgourmet, 20% by the Nordmann group, and 10% by Süddeutsche Getränkedistribution (Brau Holding International).
