Sweden’s ICA Posts LFL Sales Growth Of 6.6% In December 2020

Swedish retailer ICA Gruppen has reported like-for-like sales growth of 6.6% across its stores in December 2020.

The retailer generated sales worth SEK12.3 billion (€1.22 billion) in this period, across all banners.

In the January to December period, like-for-like sales increased 7% to SEK130.6 billion (€12.9 billion).

Strongest Performer

In December, ICA Nära convenience stores emerged as the strongest performer within the group, with like-for-like sales up 10.7%, followed by Maxi ICA Stormarknad at 7.2%.

ICA Kvantum posted a like-for-like sales growth of 6% to SEK3 billion (€300 million), while ICA Supermarket saw like-for-like sales up 4.7% to SEK3.4 billion (€340 billion).

Annual Performance

In the January to December period, Maxi ICA Stormarknad emerged as the top performer with like-for-like sales up 9.3%.

The retail chain generated sales worth SEK42.1 billion (€4.2 billion) in the 12 months ended December 2020.

ICA Kvantum and ICA Nära were neck and neck with like-for-like sales growth of 7.2% and 7%, respectively.

Sales at ICA Supermarket stood at SEK37.4 billion (€3.7 billion) in this period, with like-for-like sales up 4.6%.
