Sweden's ICA Invests In Accessible Care Platform Min Doktor

Sweden's ICA Gruppen has announced that it has invested in Min Doktor, a provider of digital primary care services, via its Apotek Hjärtat pharmacy chain.

The retailer will use Min Doktor to offer digital support to its Minutklinikens drop-in clinics which are adjacent to several Apotek Hjärtat pharmacies.

The group's investment is valued at SEK 335 million, plus other contributions, including the Minutkliniken business, which is valued at SEK 225 million (€32 million). As part of the deal, Minutkliniken will become part of Min Doktor, with a further expansion planned in the coming years.

Successful Venture

“Minutkliniken has become a success in a short period of time,” commented Per Strömberg, CEO of ICA Gruppen.

“Customers appreciate the ability to get care during weekends and evenings, for example, without having to book a time. With this transaction we see an opportunity to make healthcare services even more accessible, whether it be via a smartphone or in connection with a visit to the grocery store.”

Jonas Big, the chief executive of Min Doktor, echoed his sentiments by saying that alongside ICA Gruppen "we are now making a major investment to further simplify daily life for people, by making high-quality health and medical care accessible in people’s pockets as well as just around the corner.”
