Amazon has launched a new same-day parcel delivery service in the UK.
The internet retail giant has signed with newspaper and magazine wholesaler Connect Group, previously as Smiths News, to launch the Pass My Parcel service.
The service will use Connect's distribution network to deliver packages to over 500 stores by the end of the year.
There will be two deliveries runs per day with an additional 1,000 locations being signed up to the service within 12 months,
Connect's chief executive Mark Cashmore said that working with the online retailer is a vote of confidence for the company.
He said that home deliveries are not convenient when people are away from the home during the day.
Orders placed before 11.45 am can be collected from 4pm the same day, said Amazon in a statement on its website, adding that it was its fastest delivery service to date.
Pass My Parcel customers receive a pincode by email for collecting the parcel.
Amazon also delivers packages to UK customers with Royal Mail, Whistl and Yodel.
