Auchan's grocery shopping application, Auchan Drive, is proving to be one of the leading innovations in online shopping in Europe.
With a scanner that adds products to one's shopping basket using bar codes of already obtained goods, and a search engine that suggests products one might desire based on previous purchases, the company hopes that Auchan Drive will increase its online turnover by 25 per cent in the coming months.
As in the case of its stores, Auchan feels proud to have listened to its clientele regarding what works well in its online shopping experience, and what does not. Customer focus groups, according to the French company's official statement, were formed to find amendments to its services.
The results of these sessions were directly conducive to the numerous new features that the app offers. As well as bearing a sleek new design, the new home page allows one to view 'wink' offers and transient deals on offer. Based on a customer's shopping habits and tastes, the app can also suggest recipes and the ingredients required for them.
The director of Auchan Drive, Pascal Damien, said, "We intend for our app to be a means of winning and maintaining the loyalty of customers. We also hope that our mobile shopping will grow by 25 per cent in the next number of months."
