French Auchan affiliate Groupe Schiever has selected Pricer’s bi-directional electronic shelf labels (ESL) system for roll-out to stores.
Pricer SmartTAGs will be in place at six Atac supermarkets and eight Auchan hypermarkets by the middle of this year.
When completed, there will be 10 hypermarkets and 90 supermarkets using Pricer’s bi-directional ESL system.
The retailer has opted to introduce segment-based and graphical ESLs, some of which come with NFC technology.
Groupe Schiever first introduced Pricer ESLs in its supermarkets in the autumn of 2010; this new project is an upgrade on that initial supermarket roll-out.
The electronic pricing technology will replace a previous installation by SES in the eight Auchan hypermarkets.
