British grocery chain Booths has revealed that the trials of its 'Deliver to the Nation' scheme was a resounding success in 2014.
The online service delivered orders to London and the South of England, along with remote areas of Scotland.
Speaking on the announcement, Edwin Booth, chairman of Booths, commented, “The sharp increase in click and collect orders did really stretch us, as it did our competitors".
He explained how staff had put in heroic efforts to get orders out.
"I’d like to pay tribute to the supreme efforts made by everyone at Booths. We’ve learned a great deal from this Christmas, and have taken tremendous encouragement from the affection our customers have for Booths.”
He added, “With one season of UK delivery under our belt, we’re looking forward to refining and expanding our service in 2015.”
