Italian company Cefla Shopfitting has introduced a new shelving system that enables a 'smart' shopping experience.
The Smart Retail system reduces the footprint of display stands, incorporating low-voltage electrification and integrated LED lighting for proximity marketing initiatives. The modular system also significantly reduces the overall dimensions of shelving, but without reducing display space.
The Digital Shelf module is a low-voltage electrical signal bus that gives the shelves power, LED lighting and digitalisation, without any need for batteries, thus combining design, safety and energy efficiency.
In addition to making the physical shopping experience easier and allowing promotional areas to be added, the display allows for direct communication with customers.
Retail-outlet displays become interactive and can 'talk' with customers' smartphones via the Smart Shelving System. The shopping experience in the physical retail outlet is thus combined with the advantages of virtual shopping.
