Belgium's Colruyt Group is testing intelligent lockers that offer better parcel delivery services to customers, reports www.gondola.be.

The Bringme Box, which resembles a large locker, offers a safe and convenient option to pick up or return parcels.

The lockers, developed by intelligent logistics solutions provider Bringme, are equipped with a large touchscreen, and customers receive a notification from the app when a parcel is delivered to the locker.

Trial Phase

Currently, the boxes are being tested in six Colruyt stores – OKay in Herent, Vossem, and Welle; OKay Compact in Ixelles, and Boudewijnstraat in Antwerp; and Bio-Planet in Leuven.

The retailer will test the new Bringme Box until the middle of May, before taking a decision on extending the service to other outlets.

Bringme commenced operations in 2012, offering intelligent home-delivery cabinets, and the firm now provides lockers for offices and shops.
