The innovators at Denmark's leading retail group, Dansk Supermarked, believe that in the not too distant future all of its customers will receive receipts electronically.
The major Nordic food group has just signed an agreement with technology company Kvitteringmm, which will make it possible for customers of Dansk Supermarked chains Netto, Bilka and Salling to receive all receipts electronically.
"We are very excited to offer this service to our customers. We hope it will be a good help and that customers no longer run the risk of throwing an important receipt away," says Kristine Fibæk Salmonsen, digital project manager at Dank Supermarked.
Once the customer has signed up for the new service on the internet, all of their receipts can be found online and via apps for smartphones and tablets.
It will also be possible to scan old paper receipts, so that they all can be kept in one secure place.
