German grocery retailer Dohle is to introduce contactless payments across its network of HIT stores.
Verifone’s NFC-enabled H5000 payment terminals are being rolled-out across HIT outlets, to be completed by the end of April. This will enable shoppers to make contactless payments by MasterCard Paypass, Visa Paywave or Girogo, a trial contactless payment method from German savings and co-operative banks.
Paypass and Girogo will be usable from the end of April, with Paywave coming on stream in June. The Paypass method is currently being trialled by a HIT storein Frankfurt where 32% of all MasterCard transactions are now contactless. (26 March)
