FrieslandCampina Relaunches Global Ingredients Business

FrieslandCampina has relaunched its FrieslandCampina Ingredients business, as it seeks to tap into the growing global nutrition market.

FrieslandCampina Ingredients will incorporate four individual operating companies: Domo, Kievit, DMV and Nutrifeed, into a new global, segmented organisation.

FrieslandCampina Ingredients will provide advanced solutions to customer demand for nutritional, healthy and tasty foods, all under one unified brand.

Currently, the group's main focus is dairy, however it plans to explore future growth potential in gut health offerings, protein benefits and personalised nutrition.

International Organisation

The company remains an international organisation with five regional offices.

“The introduction of FrieslandCampina Ingredients builds on the company’s strong history, which started in 1871 when farmers joined forces in local cooperative dairy factories." said Kathy Fortmann, president of FrieslandCampina Ingredients.

"Today, we join forces again under one shared commitment: all our market segments are now serving our customers with a unified offering in high-quality nutritional ingredients and solutions for a variety of industries, and for all stages of life.” she added.

Segments

As part of the new FrieslandCampina Ingredients business, the former operating companies are now broken up into four segments:

Early Life Nutrition: This segment will continue to provide trusted infant milk formulas to help with the growth of young children.

Adult Nutrition: This will provide performance, active and medical nutrition. It includes an extensive portfolio of nutritional dairy protein ingredients, which provide essential nutrients.

Food & Beverages: This segment serves global food and beverage customers, and continues FrieslandCampina's long history of providing a unique sensory expertise in creaminess, milkiness, mouthfeel, colour and texture.

Animal Nutrition : The final segment continues to build on a legacy of safeguarding high quality standards while working with dairy farms and reducing antibiotic treatments for animals.

'The addition of clear segmentation strengthens the company's position as an innovative partner and global player in ingredients', Friesland Campina said.
