German discount supermarket chain Lidl has committed itself to innovation by introducing a brand new mobile technology system across all of its shops in Spain, aimed at improving store management.
LiMO project (Lidl mobile office), which was first rolled out across Lidl's German operations in 2012, sees the supermarket chain implant mobility technologies into the operations of its Spanish sales force, backed by an investment of €500,000.
Lidl has provided 150 Ipads to its sales managers in Spain for the development of their work. LiMO makes available real-time indicators to the management of a store quickly, easily and safely. Lidl spokesperson Alexander Hess emphasized that LiMO is "an innovative and attractive working tool." "With this system we could eliminate administrative tasks with little added value and allows the sales manager to have more time to devote to the really important tasks," he said.
