NorgesGruppen is to introduce electronic shelf labels (ESLs) to its stores. The Norway-based retail group has signed a three-year contract with Wincor Nixdorf for the installation of the ESLs for its 2,300 stores.
While some NorgesGruppen stores have already been equipped with ESLs, these are limited to pricing display only, whereas the new technology is fully graphical, allowing greater pricing and information flexibility. The roll-out is due to begin at the end of May.
NorgesGruppen operates more than 2,300 retail outlets, including the Kiwi discount banner, EuroSpar, SPAR and Meny/ Ultra supermarkets, as well as a chain of smaller convenience stores and kiosks. (15 April)
