Portuguese App Provides Discounts In Supermarkets

Portugal’s PacSis, a company that manages more than 90 per cent of the country’s discount vouchers, has launched what it describes as the "the largest aggregator of online discount vouchers for supermarket products".

Tryix.pt groups free coupons and promotions from both national and international brands to the benefit of Portuguese consumers and companies operating in the country.

The €300.000 project has been developed in Portugal by a seven-person team, based on the technology of the world's leading online coupon company Coupons.com.

Users of the Tryix.pt online platform need to follow three easy steps: register at no cost, print the coupons of their preferred brands and use them in supermarkets indicated on each coupon to obtain the discounts. In addition to discount vouchers, Tryix.pt also offers other promotions such as “refunds” – i.e. consumers purchase the product, try it out and then ask for the money back.

The goal of PacSis is to provide the biggest cross offering of discount vouchers for supermarket products to respond to the needs of the widest possible public: singles, parents, children, grandchildren, men, women, youth, adults, seniors, and others.

According to a PacSis, over the past two years, the number of issued online discount vouchers grew by 500 per cent and they are used four times more than the printed coupons.

The Portuguese company is aiming for one million registered users within one year and also has plans to expand the project to other markets.
