Dutch retailer and foodservice group Sligro is moving further into multichannel retailing with plans to introduce a click & collect service. The system will complement the group's recent move into online retailing through its stake in Superdirect.com.
Shoppers ordering groceries from e-retailer Superdirect.com will be able to collect their purchases from an as-yet undisclosed number of click & collect pick-up locations. It is thought that the unstaffed collection points will be situated at petrol stations.
Sligro recently acquired a 25 per cent share in the online grocery retailer, which is nto yet operational. The new click & collect option will not service shoppers at the Sligro’s Emté supermarket chain. (25 Jan)
