Spar Slovenia Launches Online Store As Part Of Upgrade Plans

Spar Slovenia has launched a new online store, which offers a range of over 15,500 products for collection or delivery.

Customers can now order products on the Spar Online website, and collect them using the drive-in service or request home delivery.

This includes groceries, household and personal care products, and fresh produce.

Spar says that registration for the service is quick and easy, and that orders can be made and delivered within just a few hours.

The orders are picked up at Spar Online's delivery site at the Interspar Citypark store, where customers can pay with cash or card. Home delivery is currently only available in the Ljubljana area, and is free of charge for purchases above €40.

Spar Slovenia delivers all purchases made through the online store in bags made from 100% organic potato starch or paper bags to reduce the impact on the environment. The bags are suitable for personal reuse, or customers can also return them to the store for further use.

Network Upgrade

Spar Slovenia ended 2017 with a network of over 100 stores, including both Spar supermarkets and Interspar hypermarkets.

Over the past year, the retailer has mostly focused its activities on the refurbishment of existing stores, bringing them up to date with modern retail standards.

The store network now features reorganised fruit and vegetable, delicatessen, fish, meat, and bakery departments, with a new modern design. The in-store assortment has been upgraded to include products for different diets, and a new Spar To Go line, responding to current customer needs.

The new stores are energy-saving, with the installation of additional insulation, LED lighting and CO2 systems.

At the same time, Spar Slovenia has also continued to expand its store network, with most new openings coming from franchise partners.
