Tesco Launches Hudl2 Tablet, Available In-Store From October 9

British supermarket Tesco has unveiled hudl2, its second-generation Android tablet, available online from October 8 and in-store from October 9.

Available in eight different colours, the device boasts a bigger, crystal-clear 8.3 inch full HD screen and Dolby-optimised audio.

Powered by an Intel Atom 1.83GHz quad-core processor, the tablet allows users to enjoy fast Internet access, browse photos, read e-books and more.

Competitively priced at £129, Clubcard customers can also purchase hudl2 through the Clubcard Boost plan for £65.

Tesco said that the user experience on hudl2 has been significantly enhanced with digital services such as blinkbox, Clubcard and the Tesco.com website having been tailored to individual user’s needs and preferences.

The tablet runs on Android’s Kitkat operating system, Kitkat 4.4.2, with access to over one million Google apps.

The mobile device features 5-megapixel rear-facing and 1.2-megapixel front-facing cameras. It has eight hours of video battery life and 16GB of memory.

Tesco launched hudl1 a year ago and has sold over 750,000 devices to date.

hudl2 will go on sale in over 800 Tesco stores from October 9; it will be available online from October 8.

Commenting on the new product, Michael Comish, group digital officer at Tesco said: “We know customers want easy, accessible technology that the whole family can use whether working, shopping, gaming, learning or just taking some time out."

Cutting-edge technology doesn’t have to come with a big price tag, he added.

“hudl2 may be affordable, but we’ve cut no corners when it comes to performance - this is our best tablet offering yet.”
