Unes Group has become the first grocery retailer in Italy to adopt Workplace by Facebook as a business communication tool.

Facebook’s social networking platform involves the whole company, with the aim of making internal communication more fluid and facilitating the exchange of information between management and employees.

Unes Group employees, regardless of the hierarchical level, will be able to use the Facebook-like platform to communicate, share information and create new projects.

Unique Communication

According to Unes president and CEO, Mario Gasbarrino, the retailer was seeking a way to communicate  “in a unique, engaging and direct way” with all of its 2,700 employees, in an effort to improve the company's offer and service.

“With Workplace, the 'headquarters-periphery' distance is effectively zeroed by giving the possibility to anyone willing to express their opinions to point out opportunities and problems and to get up close with the company numbers and decisions."
