Tesco Move From Night To Day Replenishment In 69 Stores

Tesco has announced plans to move from night to day replenishment in 69 of its stores and to reduce the trading hours on eight of the affected locations.

The company has also announced that it is 'bringing together different service desks', which according to media reports may lead to staff reductions.

This move comes after Tesco called time on 24 hour trading in 76 stores in 2016.

The Guardian newspaper also suggests that Tesco's chief executive Dave Lewis is swinging the axe as part of a cost-cutting drive aimed at improving efficiency ahead of its £3.7 billion takeover of cash and carry giant, Booker.

Tesco CEO to the UK and Republic of Ireland, Matt Davies said, "we appreciate these changes will impact the roles of some of our colleagues and we will work with them to ensure they are fully supported throughout this period.”
